About Brevard Flooding
Our Mission
Brevard Flooding was created to bring awareness to recurring flooding, drainage failures, stormwater concerns, and water management challenges affecting communities throughout Brevard County.
For many residents, flooding is no longer limited to major storms. Roads, neighborhoods, yards, and properties are experiencing flooding and standing water after routine rain events. These issues impact public safety, property values, infrastructure, businesses, and the quality of life of the people who call Brevard County home.
Our goal is simple:
Document the problem. Educate the public. Provide resources. Support solutions.
Why This Site Exists
Many residents experience flooding but do not know where to report it, who is responsible for addressing it, or how to effectively communicate their concerns to decision-makers.
This website serves as a central resource where residents can:
- Report flooding and drainage issues
- Document flooding with photographs and location information
- Identify recurring problem areas
- Learn about stormwater and drainage infrastructure
- Contact elected officials and government agencies
- Access tools, resources, and public information
- Advocate for practical solutions that protect homes, roads, and property
Protecting Property and Communities
Flooding is more than an inconvenience.
Repeated flooding can damage homes, threaten septic systems, create unsafe road conditions, impact businesses, reduce property values, and place unnecessary financial burdens on families.
Residents deserve infrastructure that functions properly and planning that accounts for current and future conditions.
Protecting private property, maintaining critical infrastructure, and reducing flood risk should remain priorities for local and state leaders.
Supporting Informed Solutions
Brevard Flooding is not focused on politics. It is focused on solutions.
We support efforts that:
- Improve drainage infrastructure
- Maintain canals, culverts, ditches, and stormwater systems
- Increase transparency regarding flooding projects
- Protect property owners from preventable flood damage
- Promote responsible planning and growth
- Preserve natural systems that help manage water
- Strengthen local resilience and public safety
Meaningful solutions require good information, public participation, and accountability.
